This page is a clearinghouse for some amateur recordings of my musical adventures.

I 've been fooling around on piano, organ, guitar, trumpet, melodica, and accordion.

And recently recording what's happening.

Here are some recordings:

My Funny Valentine

El Sabor del Pablo

Bucod Ranger

Consigliere

Lullaby of Birdland

Blue Monk

Chega de Saudade (No More Blues)

St. James Infirmary

And, for the kid who made me uncle, to encourage him to play his guitar:

Mary Had A Little Lamb (B Major)

To hear me live, come to Palo Alto's vegetarian dinner some monday, catch me playing before a film at World Centric's film series, or join me at the GOMF Macrobiotic Summer Camp in July.

Here is The Chicken, courtesy of the Schfinkman, Kent and the MOJO House.

My father always told me, "Son, the best thing you can do in life is choose good parents.  And you have chosen well."

This page is part of his site, a dedication to my grandfather, Francis Matthias Schmitt, who passed away a few years ago.

Before he died, my grandpa asked me to play "Taps" on the trumpet at his funeral.

When I'd visit him in Garden City, Michigan, I'd bring my trumpet and practice in the basement of his house.

He'd call down from the first floor: "I want to hear you play 'Taps'.  Play it now, while I can hear it!"

I did play trumpet at his funeral, and I caught a lot of grief for that, as well as some appreciation.
