York Minster View from the North Wall of York

Visited 19 March 2006

While there's no pub in the picture, we do see a very serious church.  We'll see a lot of the York Minster (cathedral) later.  Needless to say, the Minster is visible from much of the York walls.  The leftmost tower sits over the transept and gradually (hundreds of years) began to disintegrate as it settled.  Superior engineering remarkably saved it during the late 1960s.  More on that later.
