York Minster: Conclusion

Here's another picture of the nave while we talk about what lies below:  the undercroft (crypt).  Unfortunately cameras are banned from this fascinating place.  An excellent audio tour is included in the admission price. 

Much of the finds in the undercroft were found during the 1967-1972 excavations required to shore up the collapsing central tower.  The audio tour and various posters well describe the remains of the Roman and Norman buildings.
